What to see

Three great towers joined by curtain walls step up the steep slope at the narrowest point of the strait, facing the older Anadoluhisarı on the Asian shore. Paths and stairs inside lead up to the walls, with views of the Fatih Sultan Mehmet Bridge.

Allow an hour to an hour and a half; the climbs are steep and some steps have no railing.

Combine with a walk along the shore to Bebek or a Bosphorus ferry.

Getting there

Buses along the European shore of the Bosphorus from Kabataş and Beşiktaş stop at Rumelihisarı.

Transport lines are general directions, not checked against the operator's timetable.
