What to see

Paths wind between lawns, ponds and old trees to three restored nineteenth-century pavilions — the Yellow, Pink and White Kiosks — now used as cafés and event spaces, with views down to the water.

Allow one to two hours. Spring is the highlight, when millions of tulips are planted for the city's tulip season; autumn colours are lovely too.

Weekends in April are very crowded. The park is gated and its hours are not published on a page we could read.

Getting there

Buses along the European shore of the Bosphorus from Kabataş and Beşiktaş stop at Emirgan.
