Ramadan Feast 2027 in Istanbul (9–11 March): what closes
TRTurkey Routes teamTeam, Türkiye Shared October 2026 · 1 day ·12 places
The Ramadan Feast (Ramazan Bayramı) in 2027 begins on 9 March after a half-day eve on 8 March (museums and offices usually from 13:00 on the eve). In our data 2 Istanbul places close on the first day — Dolmabahçe Palace, Topkapı Palace — while mosques are busiest at the morning feast prayer and welcome visitors afterwards. Open on 9 March with checked ticket data: Istanbul Archaeology Museums, Museum of the History of Science and Technology in Islam, Hippodrome (Sultanahmet Square), Museum of Turkish and Islamic Arts, Şerefiye Cistern (Theodosius Cistern), Grand Bazaar, Spice Bazaar, Galata Tower, Galata Mevlevi Lodge Museum, İstiklal Avenue, Taksim Square, Maiden's Tower. Expect fuller ferries and family crowds in parks; Istanbul's municipality has made public transport free on feast days in past years and announces it shortly before. The public holidays page lists every 2027 date; the planner warns you when a day of your trip falls on one.
