What to see

The cave portal describes a cave that developed along fault cracks in the limestone and still carries an underground water channel, with waterfalls and rock formations along the way. It has been open to visitors since 2003; only part of its length is open.

Allow about an hour. It combines with Sumela Monastery or the Trabzon coast in a long day.

Visiting days can change with rainfall and the water level inside (cave portal) — check before you go, especially after heavy rain.
