What to see

Enter past the late Roman walls to the Hellenistic gate with its two round towers, then walk up the main street with its central water channel, flanked by columns and shops. Baths, an agora and a huge stadium lie close to the entrance.

Allow two hours. The site is flat but exposed, with little shade, so avoid midday in summer. The theatre is closed for restoration.

Visit Perge before or after the Antalya Museum, where the statues found here are shown, once the museum reopens.

Getting there

Perge is about 18 km east of central Antalya near Aksu; the Antalya tram line runs towards Aksu, and the last stretch is a walk or taxi (route not checked with the operator).
