What to see

Upper Düden is a green park where the river drops into a pool, with a path running behind the curtain of water. Lower Düden, at Lara, is the dramatic one: the river plunges over the cliff edge into the Mediterranean.

Each park needs 30 to 60 minutes. The best view of the lower falls is from the sea, on the boat trips that leave Kaleiçi harbour.

Spring, when the river is full, is the finest time. In summer, visit the upper falls in the morning before the picnic crowds.

Getting there

Lower Düden is on the coast road east of the centre towards Lara; Upper Düden is about 10 km north-east of the centre in Kepez. City buses serve both; route numbers were not checked with the operator.
