Cappadocia has more than one underground city and they are not the same visit. From Göreme: Özkonak Underground City — 18 km, €6, opens 08:00; Tatlarin Underground City — 30 km, free, opens 08:00, closed Mondays; St Mercurius Underground City — 56 km, €3, opens 08:30; Saratlı Kırkgöz Underground City — 56 km, €3, opens 08:30; Derinkuyu Underground City — 31 km, €13, opens 08:00; Kaymaklı Underground City — 21 km, €13, opens 08:00; Mazı Underground City — 19 km, €3, opens 08:00. Derinkuyu and Kaymaklı are the largest and best known; the smaller ones are cheaper and, by their size, quieter. Distances are straight lines from the data on this site; the plan below is one long day with a car — without one, pick the two nearest a dolmuş line.
