What to see
The battery takes its name from Sultan Abdülhamid II, in whose reign it was built to guard the Narrows, and it was one of the shore batteries in action during the naval battles of 1915. Today the site holds the Çanakkale Wars History Museum, a culture park and an open-air model of the Gallipoli peninsula, with the strait and the European shore in view.
An hour to an hour and a half for the museum and the grounds.
Closed on Mondays. The Ministry page prints prices for Turkish citizens only.
