What to see

The visit starts down a long ramp and then climbs through the floors in time order: pottery and gold from the early cities, the Polyxena sarcophagus with its sacrifice scene, statues from nearby sites and displays on the legend of the Trojan War. A roof terrace looks out over the plain to the mound.

Allow an hour and a half. The same ticket covers the Troy site.

See it before the ruins if you can: the ruins are easier to read afterwards.

At the road junction for Troy near Tevfikiye, about 1 km before the ancient site; Troy minibuses from Çanakkale stop here.
