What to see

The Stone Age halls are the reason to come: a full-size copy of a Göbeklitepe enclosure, the life-size "Urfa Man" statue, and pillars and carvings from sites that you cannot visit. Later rooms follow the city through the Assyrian, Roman and Islamic periods.

Across the park, the Haleplibahçe building protects villa mosaics found when a leisure park was being built; one ticket covers both. Allow two hours, or three if you take your time.

Good for the heat of the day, or in the evening, when the museums open again for a separate night session.

In Haleplibahçe park, a 15-minute walk north-west of Balıklıgöl.
