What to see

From outside it looks like a simple stone and timber building; inside, carved and painted wooden pillars hold up a gallery and a ceiling covered in geometric and floral patterns in red, green and ochre.

Half an hour. It is a village mosque: visits depend on someone being there to open it, and prayer times come first.

Combine it with Kastamonu old town; it is a detour of about 90 minutes from Safranbolu.
