What to see

The Culture Portal describes a boardwalk of about 3 km from the canyon entrance to Ilıca Waterfall at its far end, where the Zarı stream drops about 10 metres into a natural pool ringed with trees. On the way the rock walls close in, with potholes and arches cut by the water.

Allow two to three hours there and back. Walking in the stream itself is only for those with a local guide (Culture Portal).

The canyon lies within Küre Mountains National Park; combine with the Valla canyon viewpoint and the wooden villages of Pınarbaşı.

Getting there

Near Ilıca and Kölcek villages in Pınarbaşı district, Kastamonu; by car. The walkway starts at the canyon car park.
