What to see

Walls of the Byzantine-era citadel enclose a terrace with cafés; from the top you look along the coast and up the green valleys.

Thirty minutes to an hour.

A steep climb on foot; taxis go up.

Getting there

Above the centre of Rize, about 15 minutes uphill on foot.
