What to see

One of the oldest settlements of the Şile coast, Ağva sits where two streams reach the sea. Boats moored along the river take visitors on short trips; the 2.5-kilometre sand beach lies at the river mouth, and walking paths lead to rocky coves such as Kilimli — and Kadırga, which needs a long, demanding walk and proper shoes.

Most visitors come from Istanbul for a weekend: breakfast by the river, a boat trip and a walk.

One or two days; the beach is busiest in July and August.

Getting there

By road only: about 90 km from central Istanbul and 31 km beyond Şile town.

Transport lines are general directions, not checked against the operator's timetable.
