What to see

A loop path leads past the monumental gateway of the Tetrapylon, the temple of Aphrodite, the council house, the theatre and the long stadium, whose seats are almost complete. The Sebasteion reliefs, showing emperors beside gods and myths, are displayed in their own hall in the museum.

Allow two and a half to three hours for the site and the museum. It is quiet compared with Ephesus and Pamukkale.

Most visitors come as a day trip from Pamukkale; start early to have the stadium to yourself.

Getting there

Near the village of Geyre, about 100 km west of Pamukkale and 13 km from Karacasu; best by car or tour.
