İstanbulkart
Istanbul's transport card works on the metro, trams, buses, funiculars and city ferries. One full ride costs 46.20 TL (≈ €0.8) on the card; ferries have their own fares, paid with the same card.

The limited-use tickets (BİRgeç to ONgeç) are paper-thin cards for a fixed number of rides; for more than a couple of days, a standard card plus top-ups is usually the simpler choice.

Not verified: which vehicles the City Card covers and where to buy it — the fare page lists only the prices. Check at a ticket machine or kiosk before you buy.
Rules worth knowing
- The 50% transfer discount onto city ferries applies only to personalised İstanbulkarts; transfers must be within 120 minutes, and there is no discount on night services (00:30–05:30) or on the Princes' Islands lines. (Şehir Hatları fares)
- Not verified whether several people can pay with one card, and where exactly the card is sold.
