What to see

The complex has a mosque, a kitchen, a medical school and, at its heart, a hexagonal hospital hall around a domed fountain. Displays with figures and sound show how patients were cared for and how physicians were trained in the Ottoman period.

Allow an hour. The university's museum website does not publish opening hours or fees, so check on arrival.

It is outside the city centre, across the river; combine it with a walk along the Tunca and its Ottoman bridges.

About 1.5 km north-west of central Edirne, across the Tunca; taxi, city bus or a riverside walk.
